Description
The branch develops scientific aspects of basic and applied research focused on the physical properties of elements and structural details of the building envelope in non-stationary conditions of heat and humidity; moisture performance analysis; of thermal energy and experimental investigation of humidity parameters of building materials, the influence of building envelope construction on the light and thermal environment, sustainable and safe water management in buildings, green roofs and walls and the quantification of their influence in the elimination of heat islands and modification of the internal environment, passive cooling and the application of renewable energy sources for intelligent and energy-efficient buildings with an emphasis on the latest trends in science and technology in the field of civil engineering, applying holistic approaches to solutions that take into account complex architectural-structural, material, spatial, technical, technological solutions of buildings, their location in the environment, including qualitative, environmental , economic, social, security, energy and legal contexts. By implementing the latest digitization and virtualization environments, as well as sophisticated laboratory equipment and evaluation methodologies, creative activities in the field explore and develop the potential of innovations that improve the sustainability and safety of buildings and their environment. The outputs of basic and applied research lead to socially applicable solutions, creating prerequisites for increasing the competitiveness of the Slovak construction industry in global conditions.List of 3rd-degree study programs in the same field of study:
