DescriptionThe program focuses on acquiring knowledge in the field of scientific methods, theory and creation of constructions and technical equipment of buildings based on the obtained detailed overview of the current state of solving the problem here and abroad, with an emphasis on their environmental aspects and economic efficiency. Emphasis is placed on the graduate acquiring the ability to clearly formulate a scientific problem, the subject and the goal of research and development in the field of structural design of buildings and the creation of building environments and to solve the formulated problem with an awareness of the social, ethical, legal and economic contexts of scientific work. Part of his knowledge is also scientific experiment - computational, laboratory and in situ experiment and methods of its evaluation. The graduate is able to clearly formulate the contribution of research outputs to the development of the scientific field, the field of study and to construction practice, to understand and solve the problems of the construction industry at the regional and international level.
Learning objectives
The graduate of the program will demonstrate a systematic understanding and mastering of scientific methods of the theory and creation of architectural structures and building services based on the obtained detailed overview of the current state of solving the problem here and abroad, with an emphasis on their environmental aspects and economic efficiency. Demonstrates the ability to clearly formulate a scientific problem, the subject and goal of research and development in the field of building design and building environment and solves the formulated problem with an awareness of the social, ethical, legal and economic context of scientific work. Part of his knowledge is the critical analysis and synthesis of new and complex concepts, the content of which is also a scientific experiment - computational, laboratory and in situ experiment and methods of its evaluation. The graduate is able to clearly formulate his contribution to the expansion of the boundaries of scientific knowledge, through research outputs for the development of the scientific field, the field of study and for construction practice.

Because no more than 5 graduates graduate from the program in one academic year, data about them did not get into the project of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family. Mostly, however, these are employees in the field of construction, who are sent by their employers, or they complete this program on their own initiative and continue their employment. All PhD graduates work in the construction industry or as academic staff.

Ing. Jaroslav Varga, CSc. Izola, s.r.o. - graduate of SvF TUKE. Manager of a company processing price offers, project documentation, expert opinions, energy certification of buildings. For more than 20 years, it has offered comprehensive services in the field of insulation and renovation of apartment buildings, family houses, non-residential premises, from projection, implementation, professional sales, sales of additional assortment, implementation service in the field of flat roofs. In the field of realization, it specializes in thermal insulation, waterproofing, realizes new buildings, reconstructions, renovations and special insulations. It employs many of our graduates. Ing. Miroslav Zliechovec, Saint Gobain, s.r.o. - Graduated from the Technical University in Zvolen with a focus on buildings and products for the construction industry. He currently works as a business development manager. He has more than ten years of experience in the field of product management and business development at the national and international level. He has been working in international corporate companies in the construction business for more than 15 years. He transforms technical knowledge and long-term experience with various stakeholders within the construction market into product and business strategies. He is dedicated to the internal introduction of new approaches and projects, the goal of which is to link sustainability in the construction industry and a quality environment for building users with the company's business objectives. He works with many of our graduates. Ing. Martin Košičiar, Salvis, s.r.o. - Graduate of SvF TUKE. He has 10 years of experience in assessing constructions from the point of view of building physics and designing solutions to achieve an optimal ratio between performance and price. He is actively engaged in thermodynamic simulations and energy consumption of TZB systems in buildings, evaluation of thermal comfort and daylight. He works as a sustainability consultant for new construction and existing buildings, working with several of our alumni. All authorities confirmed the quality of the study program in relation to the structure and content of the study plan, the profile of the graduate, their application, personnel, spatial and material-technical provision of the program.
