Graduate profile
DescriptionA graduate of the study program is able to creatively solve research questions in the field of construction with an orientation to technological, material, environmental, economic and managerial aspects of the construction industry with an emphasis on efficiency, innovation and sustainability of construction projects. When solving research problems, they apply sophisticated digitization and virtualization tools. The graduate of the program is able to work in research teams and present the results of research and development in front of professional and scientific community at home and abroad. Based on acquired knowledge and skills, he can design, verify and implement new research and work procedures in practice.
Learning objectives
A graduate can apply scientific methods in the field of construction technology theory, construction economics and management in the construction industry. Based on the obtained detailed overview of the current state of problem solving in our country and abroad, he analyzes and solves scientific problems, with an emphasis on the efficiency of construction process management. He can clearly formulate a scientific problem, subject and goal of research and development in the field of technology, economics and management in the construction industry and creatively solve the formulated problem with an awareness of social, ethical, legal and economic contexts of scientific work. Part of his knowledge is the application of economic and mathematical optimization models to support the hypotheses expressed in the given problem. The graduate is able to clearly formulate the contribution of research outputs to the development of the field of study and to construction practice.
Main learning outcomes
In the area of theoretical knowledge as well as practical abilities and skills, a graduate of the study program: - by acquiring the skills and methods of scientific research, he demonstrates the ability to conceive and implement his own solutions in the field of material research, technology, construction quality and safety, as well as issues of economy and management of activities connected to the construction industry, in the context of global challenges of sustainable ecosystems, - demonstrates systemic knowledge when developing concepts focused on research and development of innovative building materials, constructions and technologies, in connection with the environmental, economic and social aspects of the solved problem, - is capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of complex contexts of the entire life cycle of buildings, clear formulation of the scientific problem, subject and goal of research, evaluation and correct interpretation of obtained results and clear formulation of the benefits of research outputs for the development of science in the field of study and for practice. As for complementary knowledge, abilities and skills, a graduate of the study program: - demonstrates scientific integrity by being aware of the social, ethical and legal context of scientific work, - contributes to the expansion of the boundaries of scientific knowledge in the subject area, through the publication of a set of works that are confronted with the opinions of a wide national and international professional and scientific community, - can actively use international scientific resources and is capable of communication and cooperation with domestic and foreign experts, - is able to support and develop technical and social progress in his further academic or professional development.
