DescriptionThe graduate of the industrial logistics of Master study programme knows logistics, transport, programming, logistics information systems, and optimization of logistics systems, understands management, planning, coordination and optimisation of logistics systems. He is able to deal with the operation, manage, coordinate, project and optimize logistics systems, and understands production as a dynamically changing system of materials, information and financial flows. He is able to solve complex problems in the operation of logistics systems.
Learning objectives
A graduate of the industrial logistics engineering study program will acquire knowledge and skills in the field of logistics, transport and services, technical and natural science disciplines, environmental studies and reverse logistics, controlling and logistics audit, development of new products and technologies, logistics information systems, economics, object programming, planning and forecasting, projecting and optimization of logistics systems and the application of new, modern information technologies in industrial logistics. He can ensure operation, manage, coordinate, project and optimize logistics systems, apply heuristic, quantitative and qualitative methods in industrial logistics, understands production as a dynamically changing system of flows in which activities identify deficiencies and limitations and applies procedures to streamline and optimize the activities of logistics systems, can solve complex problems of logistics systems operation.
Main learning outcomes
A graduate of the industrial logistics engineering study program will gain knowledge and experience in the implementation of logistics systems, logistics of discrete production processes, information logistics, current challenges of logistics and legislation in practice, development of new products and technologies, methods of optimizing logistics systems, E-logistics, methods of planning and forecasting, strategic logistics, methods of synthesis of logistics systems, logistics of distribution, development trends in logistics, has knowledge of controlling and logistics audit, logistics of raw materials transport, basics of SAP technology, implementation of logistics systems, shipping, social and humanitarian disciplines. He has the skills to successfully manage the operation, management, planning and design of logistics systems, chains and networks in traditional production processes and also in fully automated, autonomous, unattended systems in the conditions of the Industry concept. He has sufficient knowledge and skills for problem analysis and identification of shortcomings and limitations with a subsequent synthesis of solutions to defined problems for the respective participating profession. In his work, he uses knowledge from heuristic, quantitative and qualitative methods in industrial logistics and computer and software support. He is able to solve problems arising from the operation of logistics systems independently and in a team, manage, coordinate, design and optimize logistics systems, apply heuristic, quantitative and qualitative methods in industrial logistics, identify shortcomings and limitations and apply procedures to streamline and optimize the operation of logistics systems, can solve complex problems of operation of logistics systems.

Characteristics of the information provision
For the development of the study program, the departments of the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) use the rich library fund of the University Library (UK), the mission of which is the information security of scientific research and the pedagogical process at TUKE. The digital library of the UK (http://www.lib.tuke.sk) is also available to TUKE students and employees, which provides: lending services; consulting services; reference services; digital services; MVS and MKVS service; education and training for writing theses. Library services are concentrated in UK TUKE, which include all activities from searching in the library fund to searching for information in the online catalog and available databases (Springer Link, Science Direct, IEEExplore, etc.), to making specific documents available in print or electronic form in the UK fund (the total number of documents is 186966, of which 64228 books, 40046 textbooks, 7779 anthologies, 6341 bound periodicals, 7718 electronic documents, 31846 final and qualification theses). Students have access to the Internet on the school premises and in the dormitories via a WiFi connection, which allows them unrestricted access to library services. The MAIS academic information system http://mais.tuke.sk/ ensures the entry, processing and provision of information about the admissions process (submission of the application, results, overviews), about the study (subject information sheets, timetable, registration for exams, results of interim and final evaluations, submission of final theses, assessments for final theses, etc.). In addition to the classic library collection, modern electronic resources with flexibly updatable study materials of various types are available to support TUKE study programs. Both teaching materials and e-learning teaching materials (textbooks or scripts) were created. All are available in CD form or in LM systems, e.g. http://moodle.tuke.sk/.
