Graduate profile

Description
The study program Engineering Geodesy and Real Estate Cadastre is accredited in the field of study Geodesy and Cartography. The field of study Geodesy and Cartography educates experts needed to fulfil the tasks of the state, the department of geodesy, cartography and cadastre, construction and industry. The core of the knowledge of the Engineering Geodesy and Real Estate Cadastre study program is acquired by the student by completing a group of subjects forming the theoretical, professional and technical - application basis of the study. The graduate's theoretical basis is based on the study of exact and natural sciences - mathematics and physics. Disciplines of a professional theoretical nature - global geodesy, space geodesy, mathematical cartography - shape the graduate's professional profile. The focus of the study is the mastery of disciplines with a technical and applied nature, which include the subjects of engineering geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing of the Earth, land management, geodesy in underground spaces and geodesy in industry. The range of knowledge and acquired skills smoothly follows from the basic knowledge acquired during the first degree of study. An important role is played by teaching in the field (Teaching in the field of Geodesy in the underground and Teaching in the field of engineering geodesy). Cultivating the habits of professional independence and decisiveness based on a methodological approach while respecting the correct conceptual solution is essential. An important role is played by the perfect mastery of computer technology, knowledge of calculation, testing and evaluation programs with the obvious use of GIS programs and the CAD group. (Projecting and implementation of GIS) The group of basic subjects is suitably supplemented, and the profile of the graduate is expanded (humanized) by subjects in the field of management (Management of geodetic activities), legislation, law and in block teaching also the subject of Social Sciences II, where students have the option of choosing from several areas.
Learning objectives
The profile of the graduate focuses on acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge based on the current state of science in the field of geodesy, cartography and real estate cadastre. The graduate has professional and methodological knowledge at the evaluation level necessary for the performance and management of activities in the field of geodesy and cartography. He has knowledge serving as a basis for innovative thinking in the performance of the profession in practice and in research. He can draw conclusions from the input information, formulate the assignment, compile the optimal solution, specify the possible risks of the solution. The graduate can argue with complex professional and methodological knowledge from several areas of the field of study. He can assess essential connections, principles and theories from the field of study. He can assess the relevant procedures and solution methods. The graduate masters the skills necessary for practice in the field of geodesy and cartography. He can independently integrate and apply theoretical and practical knowledge, he can apply appropriate conceptual and categorical apparatus when solving, work independently and creatively with sources, interpret and analyze professional texts. He can formulate recommendations for the development of the relevant scientific and work area, determine scientific or practical prerequisites for solving problems, create instructions, implementation projects and evaluation procedures for activities from the field of study. He has innovative thinking and is ready to professionally present the results of his own analysis and study in front of a professional audience, even in a foreign language, he is ready for interdisciplinary cooperation in solving scientific, but also social problems and proposing their solutions. The graduate demonstrates a high degree of independence in solving problems and projects from the field of study and demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an individual, member or team leader in the modernization of geodetic reference coordinate systems, in the design and implementation of constructions, in the design, implementation and control of demanding investment, transport and energy units, in the design, creation and management of geographic information systems, in engineering activities related to land improvements, in the creation and publication of cartographic products and visualization of digital spatial models. He can work in state investor organizations, at all levels of state administration and self-government, in scientific institutes, as well as in the business sector. After meeting other conditions, he can apply for professional qualification for the performance of selected activities in the field of geodesy and cartography.
