Graduate profile
DescriptionA graduate of SP Informatics has knowledge of key areas of informatics. He uses them to identify the problem and propose a solution. He understands the principles, methods and selected technologies of information systems and software engineering, and applies them in practice. He is ready to join a development team and participate in the creation and management of software and systems. It handles the configuration of networks and peripherals. He will apply as an application/system programmer or system/database administrator.
Learning objectives
Bachelors of the field of informatics acquire an IT education that enables them to cope with the increasing demands of scientific, technical and economic development in the new century, and their skills significantly exceed general IT literacy. The theoretical basis of the study provides a graduate of the 1st degree in the field of informatics with long-term valid knowledge, shapes his way of thinking (exactness, ability to abstract), helps him create an idea of the solvability and complexity of solving problems, and gives him an apparatus for formal description of systems. The theoretical basis of the study is supplemented by subjects that enable deeper specialization in one of the areas of computer science with the aim of entering practice after completing the 1st degree in the field of computer science. It is expected that graduates of the 1st degree of the field of informatics will find employment in all kinds of businesses and organizations that depend on information technology, where they will mainly fulfill the following roles: member of the development team of a software solution, configuration manager, installation and management of complex SW and systems, configuration networks and peripheral devices. He is also able to independently create software applications of small scale and complexity and participate in the required quality in the creation of large systems according to a precisely defined assignment. A bachelor of computer science has basic theoretical-methodological knowledge from key areas of computer science, he can use it when designing system configurations from ready-made modules, the basis of which is a computer, in such a way that demonstrates an understanding of the context and consequences of alternative decisions when designing, he can use adequate theory, practical procedures and tools for installing, implementing, operating and evaluating information and communication technology systems, understands the social, moral, legal and economic context of the IT profession.
Main learning outcomes
Graduate: - understands informatics as a scientific discipline and profession. - has knowledge of the mathematical and theoretical foundations of informatics, algorithmization, data structures, formal computer languages, operating and database systems, user interfaces. - knows and understands the principles, methods and selected technologies in the field of informatics, software engineering, information systems, computer systems and networks. - understands the development of software and technical means as a systematic process of product development with defined qualities. - can be applied in practice in the field of design, implementation, testing and maintenance of software and computer systems and networks. - is a valid member of the team that deals with the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of the software product, i.e. finds employment as an analyst, programmer, tester. - can search for relevant information, analyze information sources and critically evaluate their quality. - is ready to continue studying at the second level of university studies in the fields of information sciences and information and communication technologies.
