Graduate profile

Description
A graduate of the industrial engineering study program in the 3rd degree of university studies has comprehensive knowledge, skills, and competencies in the field of mechanical engineering and industrial engineering. When solving specific research tasks, respectively industrial practices can choose specific scientific methods of basic and applied research. Based on the knowledge base that the graduate possesses, he can create his own algorithmizing of the solution and propose his methodological procedures that lead to finding variants and detecting optimal solutions. The graduate can formulate new hypotheses and strategic directions for further research and development of the mechanical engineering study program in the industrial engineering study program. He can work as a leader and coordinate a team in solving specific tasks built on a scientific basis and linked to industrial practice. A graduate of the industrial engineering study program in the 3rd stage of university studies can apply the acquired knowledge, skills, and competencies at the highest levels of management within the organizational structure of industrial enterprises.
Learning objectives
The industrial engineering study program in the 3rd degree is intended for applicants who are able to work independently and innovatively in the field of design, efficiency improvement and optimization of business processes and systems and in the field of their digitization for the needs of Industry 4.0. Students improve the skills acquired from the 1st and 2nd degree in the field of software support focused on modeling and simulation of production and logistics processes and systems, digitization, design, technical preparation of production, use of 3D technologies and ergonomics. Students of the 3rd degree of study participate in the scientific and research activities of the workplace, participate in publication activities and processing of outputs from research activities, actively participate in scientific conferences and workshops. They have the possibility of professional training to increase their competence in the intentions of their scientific profiling. They are part of the educational process of students in the 1st and 2nd degree of university studies and are involved as consultants in the solution of bachelor's and diploma theses. In collaboration with their scientific profile, they have the opportunity to work in specialized KPaDI laboratories (Testbed 4.0, and others) and in industrial practice enterprises with which the training workplace cooperates.
Main learning outcomes
The qualification of the 3rd degree of university studies in the industrial engineering study program is awarded to students who: - possess highly professional competences in the industrial engineering study program - are able to systematically and innovatively approach the solution of industrial practice problems - are able to use a scientific approach in finding optimal solutions through critical thinking and synthesis of new and complex concepts - are able to communicate their opinions and knowledge in the space of the lay and professional public - are able to further develop and support the subject area in wider dimensions, i.e. also in the sphere of technical, social and cultural progress The main areas of profiling of a graduate of the 3rd degree of university studies in the industrial engineering study program are: o conceptual design and modeling o digitization and virtual reality o simulations of production systems o logistics o industrial and digital ergonomics

Characteristics of the information provision
Access to study literature and information databases is provided through the TUKE University Library: http://www.lib.tuke.sk/Library/Home/DigitalLibrary The library fund of UK TUKE consists of its own funds (books, scripts, anthologies, magazines, theses and electronic media). In 2022, the library fund consisted of 172,878 book units. The annual addition to the library is over 3,000 book units. The study room contains basic and supplementary study literature, magazines, anthologies, encyclopedias, language and educational dictionaries. Users have free access to them. As part of the lending services, users borrow approximately 5,000 book units annually. The university library has barrier-free access to 2 elevators and 2 barrier-free toilets. There are 650 study places and more than 300 places with electrical sockets for charging laptops and mobile phones. The library has 32 desktop computers with Internet connection, intranet, Wi-Fi network and access to databases of electronic periodicals. Through the library's Copycenter, students have access to printing and reprographic services provided on 12 printers, 3 of which are large-capacity for oversized printing. The library also has its own digitization workplace with a scanning robot, as well as a book scanner for the public, which is located in the study room. Currently, the library fund is being built not only on a physical level (print and USB, CD, DVD), but also a repository of digitized books from the library fund on the MediaINFO platform, containing over 600 titles, is being developed. Access to information technologies is ensured through ÚVT TUKE: https://uvt.tuke.sk/wps/portal/uv/software
