The graduate is able to propose solutions for the processing of raw materials and waste of various nature and properties based on theoretical knowledge, experimental results and process analysis and integrate them into a comprehensive study. The graduate understands the interrelationships between environmental components and technological processes and can synthesize and draw conclusions from theoretical and experimental observations. Knows how to identify, monitor and evaluate the effects of processes on the environment and human health and propose appropriate measures for remediation and elimination of negative effects, also using life cycle analysis methods. The graduate is able to effectively search, use, analyze and compare scientific information, work effectively with information systems and databases and valid legislation in waste and recycling management. The graduate has adequate digital skills and competence to work and coordinate work in teams and to clearly and comprehensibly communicate, present, justify and defend the conclusions of the proposed technological solutions before the professional and lay public. The graduate has developed educational and self-education skills and is ready to study program in 3rd degree.
Main learning outcomes
Graduate of the study program demonstrates deep and cross-sectional professional theoretical and practical knowledge of the main topics of the study program, which are processing technologies of primary and secondary raw materials, recycling technologies for processing waste of different nature and state, environmental technologies used in the remediation of environmental components. Specializes mainly in the preparation and sophisticated sorting procedures of raw materials, in characterization, in the processing of raw materials and waste by physical-mechanical, hydrometallurgical, electrochemical and pyrometallurgical processes. He can apply theoretical and practical knowledge about environmental and processing recycling technologies and their impact on the environment and propose new procedures and technologies with regard to efficient use of resources, carbon neutrality and a healthy environment. The graduate is able to apply modern identification analytical methods, available software tools, implement material balances of processes and predict the behaviour of systems based on their composition and properties. Can effectively search, analyze, critically evaluate professional information and compare and synthesize theoretical and practical knowledge in the broader context of processing raw materials and waste. Knows the environmental aspects of the production and processing of raw materials and metals and is able to evaluate the environmental impacts of technologies on the environment using the life cycle analysis method, based on selected criteria. Has experimental skills to verify the suitability of waste recycling methods of various types and states, as well as environmental methods in the elimination of pollution, while maintaining ethical and social principles of responsibility. Knows the legislative framework, the strategic goals of the EU in waste and circular economy and has the skills to implement valid legislation and information systems of waste and circular economy when solving tasks and projects. Knows how to manage information, he has critical conceptual thinking, he knows how to identify and solve professional problems in the given field. The graduate has the competence and skill to work and coordinate work in teams and to make independent and responsible decisions with regard to ethical and social criteria. The graduate has the competence and skill to clearly and comprehensibly formulate, present and communicate conclusions before experts and the lay public in the field of characterization, treatment, processing and recycling of raw materials and waste and their impact on the environment.

Characteristics of the information provision
Access to study literature is through the University Library and its study room, either in physical or electronic form via the website http://www.lib.tuke.sk/. At the same time, from the university environment, students have free access to world databases such as Web of Science, Scopus and Science Direct, where scientific articles and publications can be found. Study literature is also available at the FMMR TUKE Institute of Recycling and Environmental Technologies through individual teachers. Library services are concentrated in the University Library (UK) of the Technical University in Košice, which includes all activities from searching in the library fund to searching for information in the online catalog and available databases (WoS, Scopus, Springer Link, etc.) to making it available specific documents in printed or electronic form in the UK TUKE fund (the total number of documents is 186,966, of which 64,228 books, 40,046 textbooks, 7,779 anthologies, 6,341 bound periodicals, 7,718 electronic documents, 31,846 final and qualifying theses). UK also provides: loan services; consulting services; reference services; digital services; MVS and MKVS (inter-library book rental) service; education and training for writing theses.
E-learning
The method used is using the Moodle TUKE platform, which offers a wide range of uses such as e.g. storing lectures and other teaching materials, informing students and implementing exams and tests. Other platforms are licensed programs of the Technical University in Košice, namely: Webex and Microsoft Teams.
