Graduate profile
DescriptionA graduate of the Informatics study field in the Intelligent Systems study program in the first stage of the study (bachelor study) will acquire knowledge from the key areas of informatics, knowledge and practical skills from computer architecture, operating systems, the structure of intelligent systems, algorithmization and programming, as well as data collection, processing, and transmission in the sense of Industry 4.0 as and the Internet of Everything. At the same time, he will have basic theoretical and practical experience with user-oriented cloud technologies.
Learning objectives
A graduate of the Informatics study field in the Intelligent Systems study program in the first stage of the study (bachelor study) will acquire knowledge from the key areas of informatics, knowledge and practical skills from computer architecture, operating systems, the structure of intelligent systems, algorithmization and programming, as well as data collection, processing, and transmission in the sense of Industry 4.0 as and the Internet of Everything. At the same time, he will have basic theoretical and practical experience with user-oriented cloud technologies. The graduate student will have knowledge about information and communication networks and information from the simulation of systems and processes. The graduate student will acquire the practical ability and skill to effectively use the acquired knowledge in developing and applying informatics methods and tools, especially in the chosen application area.
Main learning outcomes
The graduate student can follow the development of computer and information technology and update his knowledge and skills with an emphasis on cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and its use in application areas. At the same time, he will be able to program in different languages, such as C, C#, and Python. He will be able to work and use principles of using development environments, e.g., MS Visual Studio, Eclipse, Android Studio, PyCharm, and Arduino IDE. He will also be able to work with edge and cloud platforms (e.g., MS Azure, IBM Cloud, and Aveva System Platform). He will have knowledge about the field of data management, especially in the field of relational databases and the SQL language. At the same time, the graduate will be introduced to new trends in informatics applications towards artificial intelligence, which currently represents one of the essential paths of the development of informatics. The student will be able to use ROS (ROS1/ROS2) and simulation tools in robotics (e.g., Webots, Gazebo). Graduated students will be better prepared for practice by completing courses on business and management. The graduate student possesses and demonstrates general knowledge of the field of informatics at the level of synthesis with an emphasis on the supporting topics of the core of the field of study with a focus on intelligent systems, artificial intelligence, industrial informatics, and their applications. He knows how to classify knowledge, draw conclusions and connections, and use them practically. He can independently use acquired theoretical knowledge, practical procedures, and tools in designing, implementing, installing, operating, maintaining, and evaluating complex solutions based on information and communication technologies, intelligent systems, and artificial intelligence. He can apply this knowledge professionally, which he demonstrates, as a rule, by reasoning when solving a problem-based task and defending it. This happens most often by developing and defending the final thesis. Therefore, the final thesis assignment is formulated problematically as a specific task. The student can obtain relevant facts, interpret them correctly, and make decisions based on facts. The graduate can communicate thanks to acquired soft skills, transferable skills, and skills to apply in the labor market. The graduate student can present technical problems and solutions to different audiences. He can work effectively as a team member. He perceives the need for lifelong learning in the changing world of information sciences, information and communication technologies. The graduate student understands the study field's moral, social, legal, and economic context. It takes scientific knowledge into account and is capable of continuous education even after graduation. He can follow the ethical principles of his profession.
