DescriptionA graduate student of the study program Intelligent systems in the field of informatics in the 2nd degree (master degree) will acquire the ability to specify, design, implement and maintain large-scale software applications using various programming languages and integrated development environment. At the same time, he will understand the field of artificial intelligence to integrate and apply the knowledge of applied informatics and artificial intelligence. The graduate student can work effectively as an individual, like a member and a leader of a development team.
Learning objectives
A graduate student of the study program Intelligent systems in the field of informatics in the 2nd degree (master degree) will acquire the ability to specify, design, implement and maintain large-scale software applications using various programming languages and integrated development environments. At the same time, he will get deeper information from the field of artificial intelligence to integrate the knowledge of applied informatics and artificial intelligence. The graduate student can work effectively as an individual, like a member and a leader of a development team. He will gain knowledge and an overview of applied informatics and artificial intelligence tasks in the concept of Industry 4.0 and robotics. He will be able to orient himself in areas such as image and text processing, advanced internet of things-services-people-data-processes, simulation systems, embedded systems, big data, mobile and cloud computing, human-robot interaction, and many others.
Main learning outcomes
In the field of artificial intelligence, the graduate student will be provided with information about symbolic and computational intelligence and individual specific parts of artificial intelligence, such as neural networks or evolutionary systems, which can be creatively applied in solving domain problems. At the same time, it can handle work with big data and work with advanced middleware systems. During the study, the student will be confronted with programming-oriented subjects to be well-prepared in applied informatics, which is constantly developing dynamically. At the same time, the student will be guided to support engineering creativity in the individual application domains of Industry 4.0 and robotics. The graduate student possesses knowledge in the field of study at the level of assessment and extensive professional and methodological knowledge in selected areas of specialization. He understands the essential connections, principles, and theories of the field. The graduate student can analyze and creatively solve complex IT problems. He can specify, design, optimize, implement and maintain complex solutions based on information and communication technologies, intelligent systems, and artificial intelligence. He can identify critical components of complex systems and propose suitable solutions for them. He can critically analyze and apply the concepts, principles, and practices in the context of defined problems. He can integrate knowledge, manage complexity and formulate decisions even with incomplete or limited information, including social and ethical responsibility in applying their knowledge and making decisions. The graduate student can demonstrate a high degree of independence in solving problems and projects in the field of study in a changing environment. The graduate student demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an individual, member, or team leader. He has innovative thinking and is ready to professionally present the results of his own analysis and study in front of a professional audience, even in a foreign language. He knows how to clearly and unambiguously communicate conclusions, findings, and justifications to experts, but also to lay addressees. He understands the field's moral, social, legal, and economic context. He can follow the ethical principles of his profession. He has developed skills to learn independently, which allows him to continue further self-study.

Characteristics of the information provision
Access to study literature and information databases is provided through the TUKE University Library: http://www.lib.tuke.sk/Library/Home/DigitalLibrary Access to information technologies is ensured through the Institute of Computing Technology TUKE: https://uvt.tuke.sk/wps/portal/uv/software Rack with five servers (4x IBM: 8 cores, 8GB; 1x HPE: 10 cores, 16GB; 2x disk array 5 TB) located in room V012 on Vysokoškolská 4. Server capacities are used for teaching subjects (Applications of database systems), final theses, collection and processing of data from the models mentioned on the webpage https://kkui.fei.tuke.sk/bakalarske-studium-is/, storage and sharing of teaching materials, and promotional websites of the study program.
E-learning
Study materials are available through a software platform supporting educational activities and collaborative study in Microsoft Teams or the Moodle e-learning portal. Lectures, exercises, or consultations with students also take place via the CISCO Webex communication platform. Access to these tools is free for both TUKE employees and students. In cases where the situation does not allow the defense of final theses to be carried out in a standard way, the FEI Dean's Instruction for ensuring the availability of materials to the committee for the defense of bachelor's, engineering, and doctoral theses through audiovisual contribution is applied to FEI TUKE (PD/FEITUKE/05/20). http://www.fei.tuke.sk/sk/studium/bakalarske-studium/legislativa http://www.fei.tuke.sk/sk/studium/inzinierske-studium/legislativa http://www.fei.tuke.sk/sk/studium/doktorandske-studium/legislativa
