Graduate profile
DescriptionThe study program Computer Modeling educates IT graduates in accordance with current trends in the field of mathematical modeling and applied informatics. The graduate of the bachelor's degree program Computer Modeling is a qualified worker for carrying out an independent professional activity in the field of applied informatics, he is able to effectively and efficiently manage, but also independently perform professional activity. He/she nderstands the principles, methods and selected technologies of information systems. The graduate also gets the opportunity to continue his studies in the master's degree program and is ready to acquire additional knowledge, skills and abilities in the study program and in all related fields of study.
Learning objectives
The goal of the bachelor's study program Computer Modeling is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge based on the current state of science and research, to master their use in the performance of a profession or to continue in a subsequent second-level university study. A graduate of the bachelor's study program Computer modeling is characterized by an above-standard informatics and natural science foundation, which is followed by a broad professional-theoretical foundation of informatics and applied informatics, adequate computer literacy and knowledge of some economic aspects of the field. A graduate of the Computer Modeling study program has theoretical and methodological knowledge of key areas of computer science. Using modern analytical methods in the design and implementation of models consisting of ready-made modules, he can use theoretical results to simulate events and systems, and is also able to independently create program applications of small scale and complexity. From the knowledge that enables the use of adequate theory, he will acquire the ability to use application software when designing models. He can apply analytical thinking, draw his own conclusions, think creatively, conceptually and methodologically when solving specific problems of the field of study.
Main learning outcomes
Graduate of the computer modeling study program: • has general knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of study, which follow their secondary education, supplemented by selected aspects of the latest knowledge in the field of study such as mathematical and theoretical knowledge of theoretical computer science, algorithmics and database systems; • has the skills to effectively use computing and has its own experience of actively mastering modern software in problem solving; • can use modern analytical and formalization methods; • is able to use application software to apply proposed models and computer-aided means to simulate them; • has the skills to carry out experimental work with standard and specialized means of computing; • can work individually and as a team on projects involving problem identification, analysis, research, development, design and implementation of computer systems, including the preparation of relevant documentation and the achievement of the required quality and commercial success; • is ready to continue their studies at the second level of university studies in the fields of informatics sciences and information and communication technologies.

Evaluation of the study programme quality by employers
Reference letter My name is Ján Majoroš and I work as a head of X-ray device development at Siemens Healtineers and I am also responsible for relations within the eco-system in Slovakia for Siemens Healtineers. This mainly concerns relations with universities, hospitals, the city, the region, etc. Siemens Healthineers belongs among the world leaders in the field of healthcare and imaging modalities. We have over 67 thousand employees, in Slovakia around 700. Every hour, approx. 250 thousand patients worldwide. Currently, our entire portfolio cannot do without Informatics and related fields such as virtual ones reality, computer modeling or artificial intelligence. Creative analytical is important in this work thinking, innovative approaches, good knowledge in the field of informatics and most importantly - correct workers. The correct application of the above determines whether the technology will be classified only among average, or will be among the world's top. And the right people too. That's why between each other we also have graduates from the fields of Informatics or Computer Modelling. I especially appreciate the fact that that in the pedagogical process they are constantly confronted with modern technologies and procedures which they subsequently translate it into their work practice and thereby move our company to a higher level. Graduates of the Technical University are among our key people. After all, even myself I am proof of that. Sincerely, Jan Majoros Siemens Healthineers Head of X-Ray Department Development Center Slovakia June 20, 2022 Others from Lynx and SAV are stored in the Appendices section.
