Graduate profile

Description
The study program Mining surveying and geodesy, 3rd degree, full-time form, is accredited in the field of study acquisition and processing of earth resources. The Mining Surveying and Geodesy study program educates experts needed to fulfil the tasks of the state, the department of geodesy, cartography and cadastre, construction and industry. The graduate masters the scientific methods of research and development in mining metrology and geodesy with orientation, e.g. for the development of terrestrial, photogrammetric, satellite, astronomical and other space measurement technologies and instruments, special measurement works in mining and construction with regard to underground construction, development and creation of cartographic works, creation of 3D coordinate systems, application of scientific outputs in mining metrology and geodesy to GIS of local and global nature, solution of measurement tasks. The scientific part is focused on: - Research of a current open scientific problem in the field. - Principles of scientific work, links research-development-production-use, scientific problem formulation (technical task), legal and environmental aspects of new products, ethical and social aspects of scientific work, presentation of results, development of the field of study and contribution to practice. Mine surveying and geodesy are part of the megatrend of the third millennium, mainly oriented towards GIS. For the current decade of the millennium, at least as much need for professionals and scientists in mine surveying and geodesy as GIS has required in the last ten years is predicted. The content of the study program defines the following core of knowledge, the main topics of which are divided into sections: • study room • scientific. The study part contains only framework topics that the student chooses with regard to the field of the dissertation. The scientific part of the content of the Mining Surveying and Geodesy study program consists of the following basic principles of scientific activity: • research solutions to a specified scientific problem in the field, • the ability to formulate a scientific project and defend its validity, • the ability to defend the results of scientific solutions and procedures, • ability to present results in the domestic and international professional press, • the ability to formulate the practical aspects of the solution and its contribution to practice.
Learning objectives
