Employability
Evaluation of the study programme graduates employabilityEvaluation of the employability of graduates of the study program. Graduates of the 3rd degree of the Physical Engineering of Advanced Materials study program are employable: - in the academic sphere, as researchers or assistant professors with the possibility of further career growth and obtaining the 2A qualification, or associate professor habilitation, - in the production sphere as workers (managers) in research and development of advanced materials, in the field of information technologies, where they are able to carry out planning and management of research and development projects. With the acquisition of practical and theoretical skills, they are gradually able to hold management positions, determine the expected project outputs, draft out the project schedule and budget, manage human resources in the project, evaluate the achieved outputs with high erudition and critical thinking, adhere to the schedule and budget, identify risks, create reports on project implementation, follow the latest research trends, participate in professional events and conferences, propose innovations, optimize technological processes, apply research and development outcomes in production sphere or services, coordinate the cooperation of several specialists, create a knowledge base and work methodology, prepare educational programs in department, to be responsible for work efficiency and compliance with standards. During his studies, the student is an important member of the research team, which also works on solutions of complex scientific problems. In many cases, he is faced with challenging tasks, he is often responsible for managing and solving partial tasks that require him to be able to organize work within a larger research team, he is forced to communicate with team members and with foreign partners. These acquired soft skills will allow him a better offer and higher positions on the labor market in the field in Slovakia and abroad. Graduates of the Physical Engineering of Advanced Materials study program in the 3rd degree have successfully found employment in the field of magnetic materials research at SAS, in the private sector in the field of medical diagnostic technology, and as software specialists. These examples show the high versatility of the graduates of this program.
Evaluation of the study programme quality by employers
A student (Ing. Katarína Paulovičová, PhD.), who works as a researcher at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, has successfully completed her studies in the external form of the Physical Engineering of Advanced Materials study program. The excellent results of her work testify to the good preparation of the graduate for the position of research worker. Her knowledge and experience with various experimental techniques, which she got familiar with during her PhD. study, she uses fully in her work, and thanks to this, the cooperation between SAS and FEEI continues and it is constantly developing, not only at the Department of Physics, but also at the Department of Electric Power Engineering.
