Description
A graduate of the doctoral study program "Process Technology" is able to plan and initiate solutions to complex problems and research projects, including the formulation of goals, means and methods in the field of development in the field. He is able to assess and modify his own professional activity in a wider context, in relation to the long-term impact in the given area. He can carry out his own scientific and research activities as a doctoral student, the result of which is the dissertation itself. He is competent to carry out independent management, development and research activities in the field of process technology, to act as a specialist for the given field in the highest working positions, or in the field of management of companies that deal with the issue of process technology.
Learning objectives
The goal of the study program "Process Technology" is to continuously build on and develop the knowledge acquired in the second degree of university studies so that the graduate acquires a systematic, comprehensive and comprehensive set of knowledge in the comprehensive field of mainly energy processes and process technology and acquires a deep knowledge of theories, sophisticated methods and procedures science and research at a level corresponding to international criteria and will be able to formulate information about the outputs and conclusions of scientific, research and development work at an international level and manage large-scale research tasks and teams. The graduate masters the scientific methods of research and development of new processes and technologies. He can rigorously evaluate and compare the information obtained from professional literature and his own experiments. He is capable of planning experiments and mastering the measurement and evaluation techniques of challenging experiments. He can generalize the acquired knowledge and formulate it in an appropriate form. It uses the most modern laboratory technology for its own research and development and disseminates the results of the solutions. He precisely formulates a scientific problem, communicates with specialists in electronics, physicists, chemists, chemical engineers, energy engineers in solving some of his research problems. It evaluates the legal, environmental and safety aspects of production, researched (developed) production, products, technology and used process technology. A graduate of the doctoral study program Process Technology in the field of mechanical engineering also has excellent and extended theoretical knowledge in the disciplines of heat transfer solution methods in energy processes, modeling of special processes, theories and technologies in the field of multivalent and hybrid systems, energy carriers, combined energy sources and energy accumulation and the possibilities of their applications, taking into account aspects from the point of view of social, ethical, environmental and other criteria. Based on the above, the knowledge, skills and competences of graduates correspond to the relevant level of the Qualification Framework in the European Higher Education Area. Knowledge (level 8): The graduate has a systematic, comprehensive and comprehensive set of knowledge in a specialized field, including knowledge and understanding of the relationships to other parts of the field, and to related fields, he has a deep knowledge of theories, sophisticated methods and procedures of science and research at a level corresponding to international criteria. Skills (Level 8): The graduate can actively acquire new knowledge and information, critically analyze and reevaluate them, and use them in theory and practical applications for the development of the field. scientific and innovative development in the field and in related fields and use it in the direction and development of the field, with the integration of knowledge from different areas. Main learning outcomes
Graduates of the study program "Process technology" are prepared during their studies for employment as development and research workers in the field of process technology, specialists for the given field in the highest positions, in the field of management of companies that deal with the issue of process technology, but above all they can plan and initiate solving complex problems and research projects, including the formulation of goals, means and methods in the field of development in the field, they can assess and modify their own professional activity in a wider context, in relation to the long-term impact in the given field. The study subjects are systematically organized into individual semesters of teaching, where in the first semesters the student will acquire a scientific approach to solving individual tasks according to the nature of the dissertation topic, by completing which he will acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge of the set issue. The main part of the study is oriented towards the doctoral student's own scientific research activity, the result of which is the dissertation itself.

Graduates of the Process Technology study program can work as development and research workers in the field of process technology, in research and development departments of companies, specialists in the field of process technology, in higher management positions, in the field of management of companies that deal with the issue of process technology, in institutes Slovak Academy of Sciences, at the faculties of technical universities and technical colleges as independent researchers. FVT TUKE is located in Prešov in two separate complexes.
